President Obama’s grassroots activism group, Organizing for Action, is seeking unpaid interns to push for the President’s many policy initiatives, including raising the minimum wage.
As you may recall, Obama made a point of advocating a “living wage” in his State of the Union Address earlier this year, saying:
Let’s declare that in the wealthiest nation on earth, no one who works full time should have to live in poverty.
The irony appears lost on many left-wing organizations who claim to be champions of better working conditions and living wages while offering interns zero pay and zero benefits in return for their work.
Check out this wanted add for ROC-DC, a restaurant workers’ union, which is “working to improve working conditions and wages in the restaurant industry” and is seeking an unpaid intern to assist them.
Left-leaning media outlets whose editorial pieces typically parrot progressive polices, are some of the biggest culprits when it comes to relying on unpaid help, according to Vice magazine.
