Rand Paul is the real deal. He’s a rock-ribbed Constitutional Conservative. He’s a scourge to Liberals and a thorn in the side of the Establishment GOP.
We are confident that Rand Paul will never abandon his constitutional principles, a faith that has led American Liberty PAC to launch our campaign to DRAFT RAND PAUL AND REBOOT AMERICA.
We hope that you will sign our PETITION TO DRAFT RAND PAUL and show your support for this outstanding candidate for the Republican Presidential Primary.
Our decision was made easier by the fact that Rand ticks every box for us. He is deeply committed to restoring the principles of individual liberty outlined in the Constitution. He is tough, articulate and well informed. He believes what he says — and says what he believes. He never compromises on the Constitution but as a consummate politician he can negotiate with both sides of the aisle through rational discourse.
Rand Paul believes that our Constitutionally promised liberty can only be secured through a small and non-invasive government that guarantees our property rights and provides for a strong national defense.
We have noted his steadfast defense of the principles expressed through the Constitution and other documents designed to guide us away from European-style, authoritarian tyranny.
Rand realizes that the primary function of the Federal Government is to defend the country. He deplored the unilateral Executive declaration of war by President Obama because he knew that only Congress has that right — and responsibility. He truly believes that Americans should only fight under U.S. command — never the United Nations. He understands that we can no longer afford to finance our wars overseas and that our defense assets should only be spent on protecting our own national interests.
“The Constitution supposes what the history of all Governments demonstrates, that the executive is the branch of power most interested in war and most prone to it. It has accordingly with studied care vested the question of war in the Legislature.” James Madison
Rand has said that, in his opinion, one of the most important votes a Senator could ever take would be a declaration of war that sent our men and women of the Armed Forces into battle. But he believes that if military action is justified and there is no other recourse, he would cast his vote for a “just war,” albeit reluctantly.
Rand knows that Washington’s addiction to spending is out of control. According to the Congressional Budget Office the government has grown by over 100% in the last decade. For many years, Rand has published his own solution to the dire problem of the American economy.
Rand Paul has proposed a federal budget “A Clear Vision to Revitalize America” that balances out within five years.
AMERICAN LIBERTY PAC agrees with his commonsense solutions, especially the elimination of President Hoover’s abomination, the Department of Commerce, as well as shuttering the Departments of Energy, Education, and Housing and Urban Development. He believes, as do we, that these are issues that should be dealt with at state level. The Federal Government should play no part in them.
Rand also believes in simplifying the Tax Code and abolishing Death Tax and many other financial assaults on personal liberty. You can understand more of Rand’s solutions by reading his Budget for America which is included below.
Far from being bewigged and befuddled, the Founding Fathers completely understood the tendency of centralized government to accumulate more and more power. They predicted that any Federal Government would eventually make a power grab for States’ rights, and ignore personal privacy, all in defiance of the Constitution.
They were absolutely right. And so is Rand Paul.
In his battle for liberty and in defense of the Constitution, Rand Paul has stood against the PATRIOT Act (passed without Congress reading it); the introduction of a National ID Card; establishing FISA courts; giving the FBI the power to conduct warrantless searches; NSA internet surveillance; the use of drones by the Department of Justice to spy on Americans (he filibustered for nearly 13 hours against this); and abandoning the medical privacy of citizens.
Unlike others in Washington, Rand Paul believes that America can successfully protect itself against potential terrorists without sacrificing civil liberties.
It now costs taxpayers over $25,000 per child per year to attend a public school in Washington, D.C. where 80% of school-leavers cannot read or perform basic math. The figure is much the same in New York City and in many towns and cities across the nation. We have fallen dramatically in international education tables where once we were leaders.
Rand Paul gets it. He can see that as the Federal Government has increased the size and scope of the Department of Education, test scores and scholastic performance have plummeted. More money, more bureaucracy, and greater government intervention have eroded the country’s educational standards.
We need a return to direct involvement by the local community in education. Education is a State — or at best — a county or individual matter. The government should back out of education.
From fracking, to the Canadian tar sands and its (currently forbidden) XL pipeline, to hydro-electricity, to natural gas, the US is on the verge of total energy self-sufficiency — if we can only get politically vested interests out from the middle of it all.
Every time we generate our own resources, we bring more jobs to America and reduce our dependency on countries that view us as their enemy.
It’s time for us to seize the opportunity and — as Americans always do — to husband these resources carefully with respect to the land and the betterment of our citizens. Rand Paul is in total agreement with the America First school of thinking that would harness our resources and give our economy the jumpstart it so urgently needs.
Rand Paul is a medical doctor. When it comes to healthcare provision he knows what he’s talking about.
Rand wasn’t in the Senate when The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) was passed, but he has stated publicly that he would never have voted for it. In fact, when he got to the Senate he co-sponsored S.177, a bill to fully repeal the government takeover of the healthcare system. The House Bill passed; the Senate bill is still sitting on the Senate Legislative Calendar being ignored by Harry Reid.
The PPACA was the bill that Nancy Pelosi said we had to pass “to find our what’s in it.” It’s the same bill that Sarah Palin believed included “Death Panels.” Now commonly known as Obamacare, this legislation rapidly expanded the powers of government throughout the healthcare system.
It turns out Sarah Palin was on to something. As we discovered from the Veterans Administration — a Government-run healthcare provider — Death Panels do exist. The VA allowed low-level bureaucrats to decide who lives or dies by their allocation of urgently needed treatment. Through their actions we catch a glimpse into the future of government-delivered medical services.
Since Obamacare was passed, many States, businesses, and other institutions have filed Constitutional challenges to the burdensome provisions of the law.
This clumsy bid by the Obama Administration to administer socialist-style wealth distribution will impact every American. Obamacare removes our control over our own bodies and hands over trillions of tax dollars to the healthcare companies who were forced to take on the uninsurable. Obamacare was an ill-considered attempt to turn America into a failed European state.
Rand Paul does not support amnesty. He does support legal immigration and recognizes the contribution that immigrants have made to our country.
Rand Paul believes that “good fences make good neighbors.” He is working in the Senate to secure our southern border through the creation of a border fence and he supports increased border patrol activity everywhere.
Rand Paul wants greater personal liberty for Americans and a reduction in government interfering. He believes that government should be more accountable to citizens. He absolutely refutes President Obama’s claim that “You didn’t build that!” Rand knows it is the hard work, innovation, and freedom to work hard without burdensome regulations that makes a country great.
Rand famously filibustered against spying on Americans through the use of drones. He has also proposed “Check and Balance” legislation to rein in the power of an out-of-control Executive who governs by fiat, Executive Order, and regulations imposed by federal departments. His bill to protect us from government spying and eavesdropping on our computers and phones is a call for us to shore up the Fourth Amendment, which protects us against warrantless searches.
Rand Paul M.D. is 100% pro-life. He believes life begins at conception and that abortion takes the life of an innocent human being.
He sees it as the duty of government to protect life as guaranteed under the Constitution. His bill, S. 583, the Life at Conception Act, would extend the Constitutional protection of life to the unborn from the time of conception.
Rand Paul believes that gun control laws only restrict access to responsible gun ownership. Criminals and the mentally unstable will always be able to acquire firearms, even with an increase in prevention.
Rand Paul has promised that he will never support a proposed gun control law that would limit the right of responsible, law-abiding citizens to own a firearm.
When Social Security started it was designed for a generation that experienced a lower life expectancy than we do and covered around 53,000 people. Nowadays, Americans live much longer and Social Security has grown into a program that covers 57 million people today.
Currently, the CBO estimates that Social Security accounts for around 25% of Federal spending. Fewer workers are contributing to benefits than originally planned and the whole system is about to come crashing down. Net withdrawals from the Trust Fund already exceed net contributions and by 2031 the whole thing will be exhausted, and seniors will have an immediate cut in their benefits.
We can no longer procrastinate on this issue. Action must be taken now to ensure our promise to seniors is kept while the economy doesn’t collapse under the pressure.
The United States Tax Code is in chronic need of reform, it runs to nearly 75,000 letter-sized pages. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) uses 480 fill-in forms and 280 forms of explanation. It’s out of control and so difficult that almost everyone requires a specialist to complete their legally required tax returns.
In Rand Paul’s budget plan, A Clear Vision to Revitalize America, he replaced this broken system with a low-rate Flat Tax. This would eliminate every form of unfair double taxation in the United States, including capital gains, dividend, estate, gift, and interest taxes. And of course, it would abolish the IRS.
After a while, politicians fall under the spell of Washington and they begin to represent the government and not their constituents. It’s important that we push them out before they become part of the problem.
Senator Rand Paul co-sponsored S.J. Res.2, a joint resolution that calls for a Constitutional Amendment to place a limit on the amount of time a Member of the U.S. House or Senate may serve in office to a maximum of 12 years per chamber.
He’s right. If they can’t get it done in 12 years, it’s time to pack up, go back home and let someone else have a go.
Since the end of the war in Iraq and the ongoing return from Afghanistan, many veterans have returned home in need of urgent assistance. As we now know, many have been denied this care through administrative bungling at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
We owe it to the men and women who have served their nation in combat to provide them with quality care for injuries — both physical and mental — and provide all necessary support tools as they adjust back into civilian life.
Let’s Reboot America and return to Constitutional values!
Make sure Rand hears us!
