The Socialists Just Wrote Their Wishlist for Ruining America

And It Is Every Bit as Crazy as You Think

The Democratic Socialists of America dropped their latest platform, and it is a full-throated call to dismantle the American system as we know it. This is not mild reform. This is a blueprint for turning the United States into a socialist republic by scrapping core constitutional structures, abolishing law enforcement, gutting national defense, and handing power to the permanent political class they intend to control. The document is titled something like “Workers Deserve More,” but the real message is that the country as founded must go. Here is a clear-eyed look at their vision and the ten most outrageous demands that reveal exactly what they want.

The Vision: Replace the Republic with a Socialist Machine

The platform rejects capitalism, private ownership of major productive assets, and the current constitutional order. It calls for a new constitution, proportional representation, and a single federal legislature that subordinates the executive and judiciary. Police and prisons are treated as tools of capitalist oppression to be abolished. The military is a “war machine” to be defunded. Borders are obstacles to “freedom of movement.” Landlords and bosses are the enemy. The goal is explicit: win the battle for democracy, draft a new constitution, and create a democratic socialist republic. This is not incrementalism. It is systemic replacement.

The Ten Most Outrageous Planks

  1. Abolish the Senate. The upper chamber is dismissed as undemocratic. Scrap it entirely and concentrate power in a single, expanded, proportionally elected body.
  2. Subordinate the President and Supreme Court to Congress. Replace the independent executive and judiciary with versions chosen by and controlled by the legislature. Checks and balances are obstacles to socialist power.
  3. Draft an entirely new constitution. The current one is treated as illegitimate. The platform demands a fresh document that enshrines their rights framework and eliminates structural restraints on majority rule.
  4. Abolish the police and the prison system. Defund and ultimately eliminate “the carceral forces of the capitalist state.” Freedom for all incarcerated people. No meaningful replacement is offered beyond vague community alternatives.
  5. 32-hour workweek with no cut in pay. Mandate a four-day week at full compensation. Economic reality and productivity are irrelevant.
  6. End the U.S. military as currently constituted. Defund the “Department of War,” close overseas bases, and end the American “war machine.” National defense is reframed as imperialism.
  7. Complete open borders and noncitizen voting. Universal amnesty, unrestricted freedom of movement, and voting rights for noncitizens and convicted felons. Citizenship becomes optional.
  8. End all support for Israel and “Free Palestine.” Immediate permanent ceasefire, cut all military and economic aid, prosecute American and Israeli leaders, and recognize maximalist Palestinian claims including right of return.
  9. Housing for all through rent control and the end of landlords. Universal rent control, guaranteed counsel for tenants, and the effective elimination of private landlordism as a viable institution.
  10. Massive wealth confiscation and public ownership of key sectors. Heavy taxes on the rich, corporations, inheritances, and even private colleges, paired with taking health care, higher education, and major economic functions into public hands.

What This Actually Means

These are not aspirational talking points. The platform is designed to bind candidates who seek the group’s endorsement. It treats the American founding order as the problem and socialist centralization as the solution. Property rights, national sovereignty, independent courts, and a capable military are all on the chopping block. The language about “workers” and “democracy” is cover for transferring power from citizens and markets to political activists and state planners.

This is the program now gaining ground inside the Democratic Party’s primary electorate. It is the vision that motivates the loudest, most organized faction on the left. Americans who value the Constitution, secure borders, private property, and a functioning justice system should understand exactly what is being proposed. The socialists are not hiding it. They put it in writing. The only question left is how many voters are willing to let them try.
