Does Bill Gates have your best interests in mind?

Honestly, I’m not so sure.

I think he’s run roughshod over the personal computer business — and therefore most of our lives — for decades.

Now, he’s buying up farmland.  Hundreds of acres at a time.

He’s interfered in the governing of other nations — as well as ours.

He got in the middle of the COVID response and was pretty much wrong the whole time.

Now he’s got yet another “brilliant” idea.

He wants to cut down trees and bury them, thus sequestering the carbon.

Oh. Wait.  Just months ago we were in the midst a huge timber shortage.  No wood to build with.  Housing took a big hit.  And the wood used for paper was hit as well and caused massive disruptions in any paper-based business.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but building a house, for an American family, will sequester that wood for at least 50 years or so.  My home was built in 1957 and is still standing strong.  None of that carbon is escaping, barring a fire.

Problem with really, really rich people is they think every thought is profound — and right.

In this case, it’s just nuts.
