Democrats Begged China for Election Help While Screaming About Russia — The Hypocrisy Is Treasonous

In the run-up to 2020, Democrats and their media allies turned “Russia collusion” into a holy crusade, endlessly accusing Trump of being Putin’s puppet. Yet behind the scenes, prominent voices—including Hillary Clinton herself—openly joked about enlisting Communist China to counter that supposed Russian help. This was not idle chatter. It was a blatant invitation for a hostile foreign power to meddle in American elections. The double standard stinks of treasonous opportunism: rules for thee, but not for me. Trump’s recent declassifications on Chinese data theft make the betrayal even clearer. They didn’t just talk. China delivered in ways that threaten our sovereignty to this day.

Hillary’s Open Invitation to Beijing

The most glaring example came in May 2019 on MSNBC. Clinton, fresh off her 2016 loss and still peddling Russia narratives, mocked the situation. She imagined a Democratic candidate saying: “Why should Russia have all the fun? Since Russia is clearly backing Republicans, why don’t we ask China to back us?” Then the kicker: “China, if you’re listening, why don’t you get Trump’s tax returns? I’m sure our media would richly reward you.”

This was not a gaffe. It was deliberate, echoing Trump’s 2016 “Russia, if you’re listening” line about Clinton’s emails. Democrats and media spent years treating Trump’s comment as near-treason. Clinton’s version? Crickets or chuckles. The message was unmistakable: foreign interference is bad when it helps Trump, but a potential tool when it hurts him. Other Democrats and influencers amplified similar sentiments, framing China as a counterweight to Russian “help” for Trump. This was election meddling solicitation dressed as clever commentary.

The Broader Pattern of Democrat Hypocrisy

The Russia hoax consumed the party. Mueller, impeachments, endless leaks—all built on the premise that Trump’s victory was illegitimate due to foreign help. Yet when intelligence showed China preferred Biden (or at least Trump’s loss) and was actively collecting U.S. voter data, the outrage vanished. Democrats downplayed or ignored Beijing’s activities while pushing narratives that Russia was the singular threat. This selective blindness enabled China’s long game: steal data, influence elites, undermine confidence. It was not patriotism. It was power at any cost, even if it meant inviting a communist adversary deeper into our system.

What Actual Help Did China Provide?

Declassified intelligence and subsequent revelations paint a damning picture. China did not need an engraved invitation—they were already operating. Key findings:

  • Massive voter data theft: China acquired or hacked records on roughly 220 million Americans, including names, addresses, phone numbers, party affiliations, and more. This dwarfs typical espionage. It gives Beijing leverage for targeted influence, identity theft, blackmail, and election disruption. A dedicated unit exploited this haul for political analysis and operations.
  • Preference for Trump’s defeat: Intelligence assessed China wanted Trump out, viewing him as unpredictable on trade, technology, and South China Sea issues. They engaged in public opinion shaping, elite capture, and data-driven targeting.
  • Broader interference ecosystem: Influence operations through universities, businesses, and proxies. Suppression of negative stories (like lab leak origins). Economic pressure on U.S. firms to align with Beijing narratives. While direct ballot tampering evidence remains contested, the data theft alone constitutes massive interference—laying groundwork for future manipulation or destabilization.
  • Scale and consequences: This was not small-ball. Hundreds of millions of records enable mass identity fraud, doxxing opponents, or micro-targeted disinformation. Overlay with other stolen data (Equifax, OPM) and China holds unprecedented leverage over American citizens and institutions. It destabilizes trust in elections, fuels division, and threatens economic security through fraud.

Democrats’ public calls amplified the environment where China felt emboldened. They got the help they implicitly sought—data dominance and anti-Trump momentum—while screaming Russia collusion. The asymmetry is grotesque.

The Real Treasonous Activity Here

Soliciting foreign election help is poisonous to self-government. Clinton’s “joke” and the broader Democrat ecosystem normalized it when convenient. Contrast with endless Trump-Russia hysteria despite thinner evidence. This was not principled foreign policy. It was desperate power retention, consequences for the republic be damned. Inviting the CCP—the greatest threat to American freedom—crosses into dangerous territory. It erodes sovereignty and invites escalation. Americans should demand accountability, not excuses.

Trump’s declassifications are exposing the full rot. China’s data haul and preferred outcomes validate concerns about 2020 irregularities and foreign meddling. The lesson is clear: Never outsource election integrity to adversaries. Secure systems, verify voters, and treat the CCP as the enemy it is. Democrats who cheered or enabled this should face scrutiny. The republic survived their games once. We must ensure it never happens again. America First means rejecting foreign puppeteers—red, Russian, or otherwise.
