No, Donald Trump is not going to be executed, nor is he going to spend the rest of his life in prison. He may get convicted in one or more Democrat courts — courts with radical-left judges, radical-left prosecutors, and radical-left jurors — but his chances of having all of his convictions overturned in an appellate court are about 90 percent. And if any of those indictments goes all the way up to the Supreme Court, I would give it a 99.99 percent chance of being overturned, possibly by a 9-0 margin.
The current three indictments against Trump are not just absurd, they border on being childish. When Jonathan Turley says so, that’s all you need to know. As I have said for years, the most powerful asset Republicans have is the Democrats’ uncontrollable urge to drastically overplay their hand. No matter how ridiculous they look, the raging hatred burning inside them is too great to yield to reason.
Today’s Democrats remind me of a young life insurance agent (“David”) who I knew some decades ago. He was a personable guy who never tired of boasting about how successful he was, even though it was pretty well known around town that he was struggling to stay afloat. I happened to be good friends with the head of David’s agency (“Vern”), so I was somewhat privy to a lot of things that happened inside the agency. On more than one occasion, Vern mentioned to me that David was a hopeless case, so it amazed me whenever I heard David boasting about his achievements.
One day I asked Vern, who had a remarkable knack for psychoanalysis, why David would tell such ludicrous tales about himself when he must surely have known that people were aware of his poor track record. Vern said he believed it was because the most important thing in the world to David was trying to impress people when they were face to face with him. He didn’t allow himself to think about what people might be saying when he was out of earshot. It was the ultimate self-delusion, one that I had difficulty grasping.
Until modern-day Democrats came along, that is. I long ago became convinced that the Dems suffer from a somewhat similar malady. They are so filled with hate and anger that they feel compelled to relieve themselves in the moment, even at the expense of looking silly in the long term.
That’s why they can always be counted on to overplay their hand. It seems as though they’re on perpetual autopilot, which is what’s driving the farcical Trump indictments. While the useful idiots, with little or no knowledge, are all in when it comes to Dem hysteria over every Republican nothingburger, I’m sure Democrat leaders know full well that the charges being brought against Trump have no chance of prevailing over the long term.
While it’s true they are counting on the phony indictments to prevent Trump from running for president, or at least not winning in the general election, they also know that each new indictment boosts his poll numbers. To a rational person, it makes no sense to engage in actions that you know are only helping your enemy, but, much like David, that chest-pounding insurance agent from my past, the immediate gratification they get from seeing Trump being humbled in a courtroom means everything to them.
It’s the thrill of the moment, the titillation they get from listening to MSNBC, CNN, et al prematurely declaring victory over the orange monster, as they did so famously and so often with the Russia-collusion hoax (“This is worse than Watergate!”). It’s the equivalent of a gigantic mental orgasm for them.
My advice to those who are taking these embarrassingly deficient indictments seriously is to remember how many times in your life something seemingly terrible happened, only to have it open the door to some great opportunity you hadn’t thought of before. That’s exactly what I believe is likely to emerge from the Trump indictments.
Specifically, I believe that regardless of whether Trump, Vivek, or DeSantis wins the general election, a majority of Democrats will be so furious if they lose that they will refuse to recognize a Republican president. They will make it clear that they see Republicans, conservatives, middleclass folks, Christians, parents, and others who oppose their views as threats to democracy and unworthy of acknowledgment. Given all that, they will let it be known that they have no choice but to ignore official election results. (Understand that it’s not a crime for them to do so, because, after all, they’re just trying to “save democracy.”)
That, in turn, would motivate them to engage in one of their favorite pastimes, stirring up violent protests and encouraging lawbreaking. And if that happens, it would give a Republican attorney general a legitimate reason to start putting Democrat criminals behind bars. It would be a golden opportunity to go after arrogant lawbreakers like Jack Smith, Merrick Garland, Alejandro Mayorkas, and, of course, Joe Biden. Not to mention at least putting Barack Obama under oath, as I suspect he’s been a little more than just an innocent bystander since he left office.
As Alexander Graham Bell put it, “When one door closes, another one opens.” The one caveat is, when the door finally opens, you have to have the courage to walk through it.
