A video shared on social media shows a vehicle driving through the large crowd at the Minneapolis, Minnesota, rally.
Shortly after 3:20 p.m. on Sunday, officers from the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) responded to multiple reports of disturbances surrounding a demonstration near the city’s Loring Park neighborhood, MPD spokesperson Aaron Rose told Newsweek in an email.
After driving through the crowd, protesters chased after the driver, resulting in a face-off. At that point, protesters catch up with the driver, who is stuck at a traffic light. Some protesters kick the man’s vehicle before he backs up, drives over a median crosswalk, and speeds northbound.
However, there are reports on social media that suggest the driver was physically attacked. Witnesses say the mob attempted to smash out his windows with their hands and trying to pull the man from his car as he moved to get around the vehicles blocking the path.

A confused elderly man drove through an anti-Israel protest in Minneapolis, Minn. on Sunday evening after the group blocked off streets near Loring Park, with Minneapolis City Council candidate Zach Metzger filming the mob attacking the man and instructing his followers to hunt him down.
Metzger held the camera up to the man’s car, showing the man in distress and crying in his vehicle, as the mob surrounded him and one person jumped and kicked his window. He was eventually able to free himself from the mob, driving back towards the first group then turning as the mob continued to chase him.
