We have firearms in the house. My wife and I are both concealed carry permit holders.
And know what? Neither of us has ever been a mass shooter.
There might even be a dreaded AR-15 around somewhere. Again, neither of us has ever shot anyone. We are trained (not just quickie gun range trained). If necessary we can handle ourselves.

I’ve seen estimates that there are 300,000,000 firearms in private hands in this country. Yet nearly EVERY mass shooter is either currently in psychiatric care or has been taking psychotropic medications. The confused person who just shot up a bunch of little kids is no different.
It’s not the gun that’s the problem.
